Sesame
Street Live
February 12-15

An "Out of This World" Trip
Down Sesame Street An ordinary
day soon becomes extraordinary when a spaceship gets stuck on
Sesame Street and it is up to the whole gang – Big Bird,
Elmo, Bert & Ernie, Cookie Monster, Elmo, Oscar, Grover,
Terry, Baby Bear, Telly, Prairie Dawn, Grundgetta, Honker, the
Yup-Yups, Count Von Count, Rosita and Zoe to help out two homesick
Martians get back to space as soon as possible. Despite the
Martians’ short stay, everyone has a great time dancing,
singing, playing, and learning. It truly is an “Out of
this World” experience!
Luckily, the Yup-Yups land at “the happiest street in
the world” where their Muppet friends can teach them all
about Earth and the people who live there. While Terry, the
fix-it gal, makes repairs on the Martians’ spaceship,
the intergalactic visitors learn how much we love all different
kinds of things from pigeons to cookies to trash. Sesame Street
Live also teaches children how much we have in common, regardless
of the language we speak, the way we look or even the way we
like to dance.
Since Sesame Street is a high-energy, high-quality production,
this show not only entertains but teaches children valuable
life lessons such as patience, cooperation and teamwork that
make it’s sister show so successful. Adults will appreciate
the stage show and can revisit memories from childhood with
classic Sesame Street music. Popular songs include “Sunny
Days,” “The Hokey-Pokey,” and “We Are
Family.” As a child’s first theatrical performance,
Sesame Street Live “marks the beginning of a lifelong
journey of enjoying and appreciating the arts.”
“Kids Love It, Parents Trust It.” And why shouldn’t
they? After all, Sesame Street has won a total of 91 Emmys,
is the twelfth longest-running TV show ever and has the largest
worldwide audience of any children’s program. Besides
the awards and attention Sesame Street has garnered, the show
transcends societal boundaries to make it a worthwhile experience
for everyone, adults and children alike.
So don’t forget to have fun, dance, clap, and sing along
and remember, “kids are really just an excuse to go.”
