McLachlan Hits the Arena Tour Circuit

Three-time Grammy Award winner, Sarah McLachlan will kick off her latest concert tour in July 2004. This will be the first time McLachlan has been on tour since Lilith Fair in 1999. McLachlan will be promoting her newly released album Afterglow and will perform in Austin on July 23.

“It’s a very transitional moment. A lot of these songs are about transition,” says McLachlan about Afterglow. The fans are excited about the new sound of the album - according to Neilson SoundScan Afterglow has sold 1.7 million copies since its release in November. “Fallen” the first single released from the album has been on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart for the past 22 weeks.

McLachlan will tour North America from July 5th to September 10th. Following the North American leg she will move on to shows in Europe, Asia, and New Zealand. While most others would think that this schedule is strenuous McLachlan is looking forward to the road. When asked to compare studio production and touring McLachlan said, “For me the payback comes from playing. Being on the road is the simplest part.”
